Is your heart clean?

... and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
The bottom line is that your spiritual walk will not grow unless you pray this prayer and mean it with all your heart.  You cannot, by your own power and strength, make your heart pure.  You can't stop your own sinfulness. As hard as you try, eventually the selfishness and evil in your heart will come through.
Only God can make your heart pure.  Christ's sacrificial death made it possible for our hearts to be made pure. He took the punishment for your sin when He had never sinned. So, thank God that you have the opportunity to go deeper with Him.... and ask Him to help you. Ask Him to purify your heart and to help you stand firm in your spirit. Ask Him... then let Him do it!!!
